Living in Kreuth

The township of Kreuth with its 17 districts stretches from the southern edge of Lake Tegernsee to the border of the Austrian Tyrol. The climatic health resort embedded in the idyllic Weissach valley belongs to the Upper Bavarian district of Miesbach and has about 3,715 inhabitants. The unmistakable charm of the unspoiled natural landscape of the wide river meadows and the rocky gorges make the place a popular home for temporary living.

Bavarian comfort, high-quality cultural enjoyment and a wide range of sporting activities form a harmonious union in the southernmost community of the Tegernsee Valley. Especially in winter, the snowiest place in the region attracts skiers, winter hikers and sledders.

A prominent landmark of the community is Ringberg Castle. Today it serves as a Nobel Prize campus for the Max Planck Society. The natural cheese dairy is a special highlight of the town. Here you can learn all about the production and history of the popular hay-milk cheese.

Munich is 62 km north of Kreuth and the A8 freeway is about 31 km away. From Tegernsee train station a bus takes you to Kreuth in approx. 30 minutes.

In the surrounding towns of Rottach-Egern, Tegernsee and Bad Wiessee there are also good offers for temporary living.
